Costa Blanca:

The Costa Blanca or White Coast extends along the eastern coast of Spain (approximately in the middle) and covers the province of Alicante.

To the north, Denia with its 20 km of high quality beaches and the large and cosmopolitan port and large marina, from where you can get to the Balearic Isles such as Ibiza, and to the south, Torrevieja who is surrounded by salt lakes which makes it one of the healthiest places to live, especially for people with arthritis.

The Costa Blanca is not as cold or wet in the winter as the Costa Brava, north of Costa Blanca, nor is it as humid or hot in the summer as the Costa del Sol, in the south. The Costa Blanca has the best all year round temperatures. The c1imate is recognised as one ofthe best in the world by the World Health Organisation. Many people with arthritis come to the Costa Blanca and within days feel much better.

In the winter months the Costa Blanca is lucky enough to have nearly as many sunny days as in the summertime. Once upon a time the places along the coast were mostly just tiny fishing villages. Some towns have restricted their development and retained their original charms while others have over-developed and lost what charm they originally hado The Costa Blanca has over 100 kms of sandy beaches and rocky coves and many of the beaches have the coveted European Blue Flag signifying c1eanliness and safe bathing.

Arenales - Paseo Maritimo

The Costa Blanca is a beautiful region with mountains stretching along most of the coast. The A7 motorway stretches from north to south along the coast.The N-332 also runs parallel although much slower as it passes through the middle of many towns.

There are huge amounts of flights into Alicante airport, especially from Northern Europe. You can choose among many car hire offers in Alicante airport. Valencia airport to the north is also well serviced. Further to the south of the Costa Blanca is Murcia airport.

The northern Costa Blanca is typically mountainous with cliffs and coves, a mixture of pebble beaches and f1ne sandy beaches. North of Altea it is surprisingly very green and lush.

The southern Costa Blanca is mostly flat with f1ne sandy beaches, palm trees and salt lakes.The south is much drier and more typical of what a person who had never visited Spain would expect to see.

The Costa Blanca has something for everyone from tiny rural inland villages to cosmopolitan tourist resorts on the coast such as Benidorm with a number of unique attractions not found elsewhere like the theme parks Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar.

Its attractions lie in its beauty - the amazing vivid blue Mediterranean waters, the lovely sandy beaches, the old towns and villages with their old narrow streets, the restaurants and bars where one can sit and relax outside because of the wonderful all-year round climate. lt's simply a wonderful place in which to enjoy life and feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

Costa Almeria:

Costa Almeria has 200 km of beaches from Pulpi in the north to Adra in the south. With spectacular beaches with dunes and rocks, unexposed beaches with fine sand or hidden beach coves that you can only access by foot or in a boat.There you can find a peace that is hard to find anywhere else and enjoy the sun all by yourself. In Costa Almeria you can also find 100 km of untouched, incomparable and beautiful cost line. Vera has added a sea front promenade with palm trees, sandbanks and grass so you can take a nice quiet walk by the seashore, enjoying the enormous beaches with fine sand, Costa Almeria has the c1assic c1imate for the Mediterranean with thousands of hours of sun and very little rain,The medium temperature is 18º

There are 8 golf courses open and working in the Almeria region. Golf Desert Springs, Marina Golf Mojacar, Cortijo Grande, Valle del Este, Alborán Golf, La Envia Golf, Golf Almerimar & Golf Playa Serena, 20 more is in the planning stage.

The American film makers discovered Almeria in the 1970's for the similar look to the desert in Texas, They have made movies like THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY and INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE. Stars that has been working there is CLlNT EASTWOOD, BRIGITTE BARDOT,ANTHONY QUINN, SEAN CONNERY, BO DEREK and HARRISON FORD.


Torrevieja

At approximately 1 hour drive from Almeria you can find Granada with Alhambra and the gardens, the Cathedral, the Royal Chapel, convents and monasteries, the old Islamic district Albayzín where the sunset is famous in the world or the Sacromonte where the gipsies perform flamenco shows in the caves where they used to live.

Some 32km and only 45 min in car from Granada is Sierra Nevada the ski resort that lays most south in Europe. In 1996 they hosted theyWorld Championship in Skiing.The snow level in the ski slopes depends on how much it has been raining in the centre of Granada, but in general, the ski resort is open from the beginning of December until April or the beginning of May. Thanks to the snow canons with artificial snow, the resort can open even when there is no natural snow.

Costa Calida:

The Costa Calida is situated in the south-east ofthe Iberian Peninsula. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south lies the Costa de Almeria with a total of 250 kilometres of coastline.

Blessed by the mild Mediterranean climate it has at least 315 days of sun per year. The average annual temperature is 18C .

The people are gentle and helpful, the whole region is well worth taking the time to explore and the good living is to be enjoyed.

The seawater is warm and very pleasant for bathing. It is unique in that there is a peninsula which runs parallel to the coastline thus forming the Mar Menor.

The Mar Menor is Europes largest salt water lagoon, over 170 square kilometres of shallow water. Cartagena is worth a special mention because of its historical interest. This town was for more than two thousand years a strategic Mediterranean port, surrounded by fortifications it encloses numerous fine archaeological remains.

La Manga Club with three 18-hole courses is one of the world's great resorts. A luxurious playground has been shaped on 1400 acres of lush, rolling countryside scattered with thousands of palm trees and surrounded by lemon groves.
